Exercise Concerns
Recommendations for exercise should be determined in consultation with your cardiologist. The tolerance for exercise depends on the degree of residual mitral valve insufficiency and left ventricular outflow tract obstruction. The presence of conduction anomalies (e.g. arrhythmias or heart block) may also set limits on safe levels of exertion. In the absence of these problems, no exercise restrictions will apply.
Anyone with congenital heart disease, repaired or non-repaired, should consult with their cardiologist about physical activity to review the risks. |
