General Information
Due to your child's congenital heart defect or due to the medication that he/she is on, some electrolyte abnormalities or increased requirements for certain minerals may occur. If your child has had a transplant, for example, common mineral abnormalities which may be seen include elevated blood potassium levels and decreased blood magnesium levels. This section will review the management of various electrolyte abnormalities.
